Sun Feb 28 Nice only cool. Alex went over to Mr McNealy. Drove his bay mare to Lews cart and brought back his other mare too and has to night put them into our pasture at windy hill at 1.50 pr [per] month each. Dave took a ride with Topsy and will go over to town to night to take Lill Dixon and Aggie and expects to fetch Lew back.

Mon Feb 29 Rather cold and raw but I have seen worse days. Lew and Alex hauled some hay for the steers this forenoon and put a couple of loads of snow into the cistern and this afternoon they hauled manure and used Beauty with Sue. I worked at the steers racks and the sheep carrells [corrals] this forenoon and this afternoon I worked in the shop and churned.
