Tues March 8 Some wind by
spells but not very cold. I left
John Dragers after breakfast left
Mother there for a weeks visit went
via the head gate and closed down
the waste gate so as to get a little
more water took Clarance to the
schoolhouse then went to
Charley Pennocks got some cions [scions]
and a receipt for Blight medicine
then came home and put in the
ballance [balance] of the day painting in
the kitchen except while I was
visiting with Mr Haag.

Wed March 9 Cloudy and cold with
some wind and a little snow
towards night. The boys hauled some
hay for the sheep and some manure
in the afternoon. I painted
some in the kitchen and some
screen doors and one window
screen.
