Sun April 3 Mean as ever
and rained a spell for chore time
at night. We weighed a lot of sheep
some 15 I think and they averaged
74 3/13 lbs. I think that is some
what encouraged. We had some
company to day. Mr Smiths
folks and Mr Spensers folks
and had a very pleasant visit too.

Mon Apr 4th A howling wind
all day and keeps it up yet and it is
pretty cold too. Lew and Kibb cleaned
some seed wheat this forenoon
and hauled manure this afternoon.
I fixed the organ and the beams
and made a pair of rockers for
the little rocking chair.

Tues Apr 5 Pretty good
day. Lew and Kibb hauled 2 loads
of hay to the sheep and 2 to put into
the loft. I painted chares [chairs] in
the forenoon and tinkered
apple trees this afternoon.
