Tues Apr 12th A cold raw day and just at night it began to snow and now it is snowing like blazes. We went over to town with the sheep and got them carred all right [alright] about half past one and they got started about half past 3 made part of a big train made up of 3 cars of sheep belonging to Mr Batty and us 1 car of cattle one car of trees quite a lot of cars loaded with stone.

Wed Apr 18 Another very disagreable [disagreeable] cold windy day but clear and sunshiny. Lew went to plowing. Kib hauled manure and Monta helped him some but his foot troubled him some so he didnt work very steady. I finished the grafting in the little plum patch then trimmed apple and pear trees and cut some down to stop the blight.

Thurs Apr 14 A pretty fair day for this spring. Lew plowed. Monta went to town this forenoon to get some vitriol and some horse medicine etc. and this afternoon he helped Kibby haul manure. I trimmed orchard this forenoon and set grafts this afternoon.

Fri April 15 Quite a nice day though not entirely clear all day. Lew plowed. Monta and Kibby hauled manure in the forenoon and in the afternoon they worked at trimming and carrying off the brush that I had trimmed down in the orchard. I vitrioled wheat this forenoon and fixed the butter worker and this afternoon I rigged up the harrow and then worked at trimming trees down in the lower orchard.

Sat Apr 16 Nice and quite warm in the middle of the day. Lew sowed the wheat got about 7 bush [bushels] of wheat on the piece then went up to the ranch. Kib harrowed the piece over. Monta sort of chored a round [around] some. I finished the grafting which kept me pretty busy all day.

Sun Apr 17 Pretty good but thin clouds most of the day but not windy. Lew got home from Spring Canion [Canyon] about sunset. The rest of us kept Sunday pretty much as usual all but Moses he has got out of the field and gone off somewhere.

Mon Apr 18 Somewhat cool this morning but began to rain about 10 O clock. It rained a little in the night last night and since it began to day it has rained slowly a good part of the time. Lew and Kib hauled some cottonwood poles and stuff for wood and some other stuff but had to quit on account of the rain then. Kib chored around and Lew fixed the harnes [harness] and they churned etc. I pruned awhile then commenced little jobs fixed straps on my shoes varnished Marys machine fixed the window in the N W bedroom put a light of glass in the SW bedroom window fixed the bedstead put a glass in the north window and in the little dining room window fixed the table and put a wooden glass in N milk room window.

Tues Apr 19 Found about 5 or 6 inches of snow this morning on the ground this morning and snowed all day most but thawed underneath so the snow didnt goin [go in] very much. The boys done the chores and I didnt do anything scarcely.

Wed Apr 20 A cold dreary unpleasant day and by spells snowy day. Lew fixed harness awhile this forenoon and this afternoon him and Kib hauled a load of alfalfa threshings to some cattle out on the prairy [prairie] that were pretty hungry I guess. I worked at preparing slips this forenoon and most froze and Kib helped me. This afternoon I tried to get warm.
