Wed Feb 8 Rather a pleasant day. Lew drove over to Mr Batties with the colts this morning. Left word for him to come over and look at some of our cows. Kib and I cut wood in the grove this afternoon. Fri Feb 10 Clear mostly and quite warm. Lew and Kib hauled 3 loads of hay. Two for the cows and one for the horses and one load of ice. I trimmed apple tree limbs in the forenoon. Afternoon 0.

Wed Feb 15 A very nice day. Mother Mary and Lew and I went up to Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch and brought down 10 head of cattle 8 cows and heifers and 2 steers. The most of the cows and heifers will be fresh soon. Kib worked at the wood pile for a business.

Thurs Feb 16 Just as nice as we could wish for. Lew and Kib fixed the yard so as to turn some cows and heifers into it to feed them until they calve and they can be kept from the other stock. I worked at a pattern for a stove grate.

Fri Feb 17 Pretty nice to day. Lew and I went over to Nick Myres this forenoon and bought and brought home 5 pigs. We had to pay 3 dollars apiece for them. This afternoon and boys unloaded a load of hay and hauled another and put into the loft. I worked at the grate mold and done some other little things.
