Sun Oct 12 Changeable but somewhat windy. Lew and Lewis went out and got a rabbit or two. I watched and waited for the ditch rider to come along with afternoon but got discouraged and came to the house and after a while. I set the water to [running?] into the cistern and that is about all but the chores.

Mon Oct 13 Windy all day but not so bad in the afternoon. The hunting party got off this morning about 10 O clock. They were Don Conkling Geo W Gore and David A. We all wished them luck. Mr Lewis left this morning too. Lew and I chored around this forenoon got Dr Rose and he attended to Beauty this afternoon. Lew finished raking over at Johns and Mother and I gathered apples.

Tues Oct 14 Pretty fair to day. The boys Lew and Will Dixon hauled 4 loads today 2 to John and 2 to us. I finished filling the cistern. Mr Buffum came out and we measured the hay. We have the west end of the stacks. Mother and I finished putting the apples into the celler [cellar].

Wed Oct 15 Well a pretty fair day. Lew and Will hauled four loads of hay 2 for John and 2 for us and they were big ones too. I worked at the corn.

Thurs Oct 16 Fair as a lilly. Lew and Will got through with the J K Howard haying in the forenoon and in the afternoon Lew helped them at their potatoes. I husked 14 shocks of corn this forenoon and this afternoon I trimmed raspberry bushes.

Fri Oct 17 Nice only the wind blew like scissors the latter half of the day. Lew helped [the?] Dixons folks dig potatoes. I husked 20 shocks this forenoon and worked at trimming raspberry bushes this afternoon.

Sat Oct 18 As nice as they make them. Lew worked for Mr Dixon in the forenoon and in the afternoon helped me husk corn. I husked all day. Done 52 Shocks.

Sun Oct 19 A beautiful day. We J E Mother me Lew Mary and Aggie went to Rough and Ready Ranch found things all right only Billy is missing. Took up old Net and left her there. When we got home we found Mrs [Coy?] Will Annie John and Burgess here and had a very pleasant little visit with them after we got the chores done.

Mon Oct 20 Wind blowed pretty hard to day and stormed in the mountains a good deal. Lew went to town twice and brought our stuff for correll [corral] fence up at windy hill. I chored about this forenoon and this afternoon covered the red raspberry bushes west of the ice house.

Tues Oct 21 Delightful to day. Lew and I hauled the garden fodder and a load at Windy hill. Then this afternoon he mowed a little alfalfa up at windy hill and helped me at the correll [corral] work and to night him and Mary are going to Mr Coys to a dance.

Wed Oct 22 Lovely all through. We hauled corn in the forenoon and in the afternoon worked at the correll [corral] etc. Mother went to see Mrs Hoag.

Thurs Oct 23 Very nice again. We hauled corn this forenoon and this afternoon worked at the carrell [corral]. Commenced this morning to irrigate the fruit trees.

Fri Oct 24 Nice again only the wind blew in the afternoon. We hauled corn in the forenoon and in the afternoon worked at the carrell [corral] and in the evening we are going to see and hear the Kickapoos.

Sat Oct 25 Weather lovely. We done to day same as yesterday.

Sun Oct 26 Fine all day. Lew went to town. the rest kept Sunday very goodly and about [?] O clock the hunters came home with 5 deer carcases and plumb full of good health and good hunting stories.
