Tues Dec 2 Pretty day with windy streaks. Lew went to Frank Wyleys to get the cow and calf that was among the cattle that I traded for. Dave and I hauled 7 loads of manure.

Wed Dec 3rd Cool and breezy. Dave and I worked at a calf pen for a business but the surveyors were here this afternoon running the line around the pond and it goes pretty well up onto the good land on both sides too.

Thurs Dec 4 Quite a pretty day. Lew got home just night with the cattle that we got of Wylie for Max. Dave went to town with the butter. I worked at fixing up the calf shed but run out of lumber.

Fri Dec 5 Found about 1 1/2 inches of snow on the ground this morning but it didnt thaw much for it was cloudy all day. Hugh BcBride came here last night and is here with us yet. We all got the old sow and the biggest small one and took them to town. The old one weighed 450 lbs and the small one 226. They brought $27 at 4 cts pr [per] pound. I settled our acct [account] at the meat market and had $3.60 cts left. We got a little lumber for the calf house and cellar doors and got home about chore time.

Sat Dec 6 Pretty good day. Mostly clear. Lew went to hunt 3 of the colts that some scalawag let out of the pasture but didnt find any thing of them. Dave went to town. Hugh cleaned out the calf pen and I finished the calf pen.

Sun Dec 7 Clear and quite cool. Lew went colt hunting again but didnt fine anything of them. I took quite a hunt too but didnt find anything of them. R V Howard was here and we talked ditch and all kinds of politics.

Mon Dec 8 Clear but pretty cool at both ends ot the day. Dave went to try for rabbits got about a dozzen [dozen]. Lew and Hugh branded some cattle and a couple of colts and in the afternoon killed Sam. I went to town but my trip didnt amount to much as far as business was concerned.

Tues Dec 9 Nice again. Lew and Hugh went up to the ranch to do some work up there. Dave and I done some chores around home of one kind and another.

Wed Dec 10 Nice and warm. Dave and Mother went to town. I worked at some outside cellar doors.

Thurs Dec 11 Nice as ever. Dave and Mother went up to Dixons this forenoon this afternoon looked for the colts some. I finished the cellar doors in good shape and fixed the hen house some.

Friday Dec 12 Delightful. Dave went to hunt the colts. I done sundry chores and short jobs.

Sat Dec 13 Pretty nice day but mostly cloudy. Dave went to town and brought out Meda. I worked at some improvement on the cow stable.

Sun Dec 14 Not bad. We kept all of the Sunday that we had until night when it cleared out about midnight.

Mon Dec 15 Wind blowed like sixty all day. Dave and I finished fixing the cow stable.

Tues Dec 16. Clear but rather cool at both ends of the day. Dave and I went to town. We got some water and butter box etc. I wanted to see Dr Miller to see if he thought anything was the matter with me. He says that I am troubled with the old age.

Wed Dec 17 Very nice to day [today]. Lew went up to the hills again to haul some lumber for himself. Hugh hauled 2 loads of water. Dave went hunting got 6 rabbits. Busied myself at something and another most all day.
