Wed March 1st Clear still and nice. Lew is getting better but will not be able to do anything for a day or two yet. Kib and I hauled 3 loads of snow and put it into the cistern. Mrs Harry Dixon was here this afternoon.

Thurs March 2nd Very fine to day. Kib and I hauled 3 loads this afternoon 2 of snow for the cistern and one of ice. This afternoon Kib chored and I worked at Mrs Dixons commode. Lew went to town and fetched a lot of letters for all of us.

Fri March 3 Nice only a cold South wind. Lew went to town. Kib done most of the chores and cut wood some. I worked at Mrs Dixons cupboard.

Sat March 4 Fine. Lew went to town to sell Beauty but didnt sell him. Kib chored and cut wood. I worked at Mrs Dixons commode got it done all but varnishing.

Sun March 5 The first Sunday under democratic rule. It was burdened with a cold raw south east wind. Lew kept pretty quiet to day and he thinks he feels better for it. Mother and I was going up to Harry Dixons but it seemed most too cold and raw. Kib went to town and brought out the mail.

Mon March 6 Nice. Kib and I hauled manure. I varnished Mrs. Dixons commode. Lew tinkered around.

Tues March 7 Cold and raw. Kib and I filled the Windy racks and this afternoon Kib chored at one thing and another and I didnt much. Lew went to Mr Howards to carry my proxy to him etc.

Wed March 8 Clear and quite nice on an average. Lew went to town and got the plow fixed for breaking. Kib chopped wood between chores. I worked in the shop some and nursed my lame eye some.

Thurs March 9 Clear and pretty and some of the time quite warm. Lew and Kib sawed cottonwood this forenoon and hauled hay this afternoon from the 10 acre piece. I worked at Mrs Dixons cuppboard this forenoon about half of it and odd jobs the rest of it and this afternoon I worked at the old cow stable. Spotty had a little red heifer calf with a few small white spots on it.

Fri March 10 Windy and cold this morning and kept it up all day and to night it is just howling. Lew and Kib worked at the woodpile this forenoon and Kib this afternoon. I worked at the old cow stable all day and Lew this afternoon. We ware [were] putting stancheons [stanchions] in it. There was to be a party here to night but the wind blew so very hard that only a few came and they only played letters and sich [such]..

Sat March 11 Nice again to day. Hary [Harry] Dixon came down and help the boys butcher the steers. They got done before noon. This afternoon they hauled a load of hay which finished the 10 acre piece. Then they fetched Dora and her calf down etc. Ett and the girls started for this ranch last night but the wind was so bad that they staid [stayed] at Mr Wrights and came here this morning. Meda got here last night so we are rioting in good company. I worked at the old cow barn.

Sun March 12 Might windy again to day. Ett and her children went home to night. Charleys folks were here this afternoon. We had a nice visit and talked politics business and lots of other things. The wind is still howling to night.

Mon March 18 About as windy as ever and pretty cold. Lew went to town got Beauty shod so as to start for some place to sell him. Kib worked at the wood pile except when doing chores. I worked at the old stable.

Tues March 14 Pretty nice only most too cold for comfort. Lew started for the potato country with Beauty Dom and Prince hoping to sell some one or more of them. Kib and I worked at the old cow stable between chores.

Wed March 15 Clear and cold. Kib went to town with the cream and found Hattie was sick. So after he got home Mother went over with old Nell and the buggy. I remodelled the bridge towards windy hill in the forenoon and in the afternoon finished fixing the old cow barn. Got done just about chore time.
