Tues Nov 21 Cold and raw but not bad enough to keep us from visiting Mr Cushings folks had a real nice time. Lew hauled some hay and fixed the feed racks and this afternoon went to the creamery and to town.

Wed 22 Snowed 4 in [inches] last night and was quite cool to day. Lew and uncle Dave took Berts heifer home. She had been here since the first of last March [m and?] [to 21?]. They allso [also] took up to Charleys and put into pasture three other cows. I done sundry chores which kept me most of the day.

Thurs Nov 23 Pretty cold all day. The thermometer marked about at zero here and about 7 below at Collins. Lew and Mary and me attended Mrs Wrights funeral. She died yesterday of Typhoid fever and Paul is sick with the same now, so they think. David and Frank went to town and got a ton of coal. We had a little visit from Joe Bush.

Fri Nov 24 Clear mostly and it thawed considerable in the road in some places. Lew and Frank went up to the ranch and got 10 head of calves and one 2 year old and Moses that they left at Charleys and they brought home the big roan heifers from Charleys they allso [also] put into the fattening pen.

Sat Nov 25 Rather a nice day. Ive hauled one load of hay from the ten acre piece to the fattening pens and anothe [another] from the same to the barn loft. Dave and Lew went to town but I dont know what after. Frank went and got his bedding.

Sun Nov 26 Most all day rather cool but thawed some too. Mr Howard and Mr Buffom [Buffum] came here and we measured up the hay. We found that we raised sixty tons and most a half. So I have to pay for 30 tons and a quarter 121 dollars. Ett and the girls were here to day and to night. Uncle David and aunt Rhoda started for home to night they had Mother for company and she will stay with them at Bert and Nellys tonight with them and tomorrow they will go on to Boulder and will stay with Meda and Mother will stay with her until Wednesday night then Meda will come home with her.

Mon Nov 27 Quite nice and thawed the snow most all off with a west wind. Lew went up to the ranch and took Maud up and brought down Stella and left her at Charlies and fetched the one that I sold to Charley home to break. Frank and I done a good many chores and shucked corn some and him and Mary went town this afternoon.

Tues Nov 28 It commenced to blow pretty soon this morning and kept it up heavy all day. Lew and Frank hauled a couple [2] of smallish loads of hay this morning and we laid down and coverd [covered] the raspberry briars this afternoon and they killed Nancy Allens calf just at night. I got the water started around towards the cistern this morning and commenced to irrigate the alfalfa north of the house too.

Wed Nov 29 Mostly clear but a little too breezy some of the time. The boys hauled 4 loads of hay from C V Howards. I done sundry jobs but the biggest was filling the cistern and irrigating.

Thurs Nov 30 Thanksgiving day. The wind has kept up a howl more or less all day and towards night it got pretty cool. Lew and Frank hauled 2 loads of hay from C V Howards to day and this afternoon. Lew run the tanney and trained Charleys colt etc and Frank run a shoe repair shop. I went up to windy hill and worked on the road awhile this morning then I attended to the irrigating and got the piece done.

Fri Dec 1st Pretty good until near night then it blew until all was blue. Jim Johnson got his wagon so we only hauled two loads from C V and they filled the racks at Windy hill. I finished husking the big corn and begun on the pop corn.

Sat Dec 2 Cold and windy all the latter part of the day. The boys hauled a load of hay from C Vs [C V Howards] and Frank went to town and to night. Lew and Mary have gone over to Charleys to stay all night. I cleaned the hen houses this forenoon and this afternoon I have sat by the stove and tried to get warm.

Sun Dec 3 A pretty good day and not very cold or windy. Lew and Mary got home in good time for chores etc. Frank and Mary and Perry went over to Reas's. Mother Mary and I staid [stayed] at home and kept Sunday.

Mon Dec 4 Mostly clear but a howling wind from rosy morn till dewy eve and then the wind shifted a few points to the north and got to be as cold as blazes. Mary and Lew went to Greeley on the 11:30 train to move Mrs Bartletts things to another place. They may be gone 3 or 4 days. Frank went to town to take Lew and Mary over and the cream and do some other errands. I staid [stayed] in out of the dust mostly.

Tues Dec 5 Been cloudy most of the time to day and towards night it got pretty cold. Frank moved and branded 3 little heifers for Dr Miller. I finished husking the corn and covered Mothers rose bushes and done Sundry other chores. Ed Wyley is here to night and we are talking mines mining and ores and kindred subjects.

Wed Dec 6 A nice day all through. Frank and I finished the hauling from CV Howards for the present one small load and we put it in the barn loft then we hauled and put two loads into the feed racks for the beef cattle then Frank went to town. Heard from Lew and Mary they think they will come home tomorow.

Thurs Dec 7 Such a gale as we had last night had ought to be scarce. It blowed 60 miles an hour and kept it up for quite a spell in the night. Frank and I chored around this forenoon and this afternoon we went to town to meet Lew and Mary but got a letter from them stating that they could not get through there in time for the train but would tomorrow all right.

Fri Dec 8 A squally day snowing by spells and some wind but not very cold. Frank hauled a couple of loads of rock to fix the road just below the lake. I made a short chunk of a head gate to put in the place of the one some fool smashed up with a machine early in the season. Lew and Mary got home to day safe and sound from Greeley after a four days siege there.

Sat Dec 9 Rather a cool breezy day. The boys put a load of hay into the feed pens and this afternoon they went to town. They drove Bonny and Charleys colt. She went pretty well. I finished fixing the crossing and headgate up at the lake. Nora is here looking on.
