Wed Jan 31 Clear but a cold wind.
Our business to day was mostly preparing wood.

Thurs Feb 1st Clear and cold. We worked
at the wood business to day and I think I will
be through that job in another day.
John Riddle came here this morning
and we talked cattle awhile and finally I
sold him 8 steers 7 cows and old Joe
for 360 dollars[$360.00] and he gave me a check
for the 160 dollars[$160.00] and is to pay the other 200
dollars [$200.00] in about 10 days.

Fri Feb 2 Pretty nice this forenoon but it
got cold and commenced to storm a little towards
night and is now rather disagreeable. Lew cut some
wood. Frank and I went to town to try to
a little business and that was just what
we done too.

Sat Feb 3 Clear and pretty cool with
about an inch of fresh snow this morning which
thawed some to day. We didnt do anything
to day only the boys went to town and I kept
comfortable in the house. O yes I filed and
set Charleys big saw.

Sun Feb 4 Cold in the
morning the thermometers marking 4 and 10 above
zero but it got to be nice after a little and continued
nice all day. Lew and Mary went up to Dixons
and to Harry Dixons at night. Franks folks
