Sat Jul 7 Clear and very nice to day [today].
The ditch rider when he came along this
morning said that we couldent have any water
to day [today] but would get some tomorrow. So of course
I believed that we couldent [couldnt] have any water to
day [today] easy enough but I will know tomorrow whether
we get any then or not. We hauled 7 loads of
hay to day [today] and got through all OK.

Sun July 8 Nice but pretty warm.
I waited until most noon for the Ditch rider
to come along then I had got the ditches all right [alright]
for distributing the water so I left them to
turn it out to me and they done very well
by me too. We went over to Lews and made
them a visit and after we got home
I changed the water again. I found a very
good head to use. George brought home a very
interesting letter from Meda. She arrived on the
4th of July at about 2 O clock safe and sound at
Grand Rapids and seemed very much pleased
with her surroundings.

Mon July 9 Clear and Nice but pretty
warm. Johny cultivated corn potatoes and
Punkins [Pumpkins]. George mowed about the
lawns and orchard. I irrigated on the
10 acre piece and had a good head of
water and got along nicely. Mother
went with Grace down home and
she brought Katie out with her.
