Jacinto Mississippi August 1st 1866

His Excelency B G Humphreys

Enclosed you will find Copy of indictment, found at the last term of the Circuit Court for this County, VS Robert Allen for larceny. I also have a Warent for him for robery, he is a bad Man, having been Engaged robing and Stealing during and Since the close of the war through this Country and Tennessee. Said Robert Allen resides in this County, he is now in Jail (I presume on some petty offence) in Memphis Tenn. The chief of Police of that City has telegraphed me to Enquire if I want the Said Robert Allen, to which I replyed that as soon as I could obtain a requisition for his body that I would be after him. I therfore request that you make a requisition on the Gov of Tenn for the Said Robert Allen Your Early attention to the above case will very much oblige
