I haste to reply to the letters received on the 16th respecting a school. Your offer is a very acceptable one and think I can comply with terms. There is one objection which I think you can remedy without any serious detriment to yourself. On looking to our catalogue I find the School will close a week or two too late for me to commence the spring term and as they are exceedingly particular to see all the students back at the commence ment of spring term I should prefer to have you commence two week earlier or at least one week which I think you can do if you leave [W] at close of first examination They grant each student seven weeks [as to] the spring term and at the expiration of this [we] are required to be present I think the pay will be $25.00 exclusive of board. How much will it cost for this latter item, because it [very] much it will eat quite a hole into the

I guess furthermore you had better [altho] keep the last 8 week [back] it will make no material difference I would like to know the particulars respecting the school. Please answer this soon and inform me what studies are taught and how far advanced the scholars are. In what branch do they particularly excell? If the study Algebra &c&c?
