Know all men by these presents, that I Charles E. Durgin of Derby in The county of Orleans and State of Vermont, for the consideration of one hundred and forty Dollars paid to my full satisfaction, by Edward Mitchell of Derby in the County of Orleans and state of Vermont, have remised, released and forever quit claimed unto the said Edward Mitchell all right and title which I the said C. E. Durgin, or my heirs, have in and to the following land in the township of Derby aforesaid described as follows, to wit, part of Lot No fifty four in said town of Derby, lying north & adjoining the road leading from Charles Kingsbury’s dwelling house westwardly toward the Lake; & south of a line drawn parrallel to the South line of said Lot and forty two rods therefrom. Containing one half acre of land, more or less – To have and to hold all my right and title, in and to, the said remised, released Quit claimed premises, with the appurtenances thereof to the said Edward Mitchell and his heirs and assigns, forever, to their own proper use and behoof. And furthermore I the said Charles E. Durgin do for myself, heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Edward Mitchell, his heirs and assigns, that from and after the ensealing of these presents, I the said Charles E. Durgin

will have and claim no right in or to the above remised, released, and Quit Claimed premises.

I witness whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal, this 23 of June 1837.
