Re Armistice Day Secy to the Hon the Premier in reference to Thanksgiving Service to be held on the day following the announcement of an Armistice - and that all Flags should be flown from All Public Building and bells rung on receipt of news of the termination of Hostilities. Recd

Hospital Rate Sec Hospitals Dept. Notification of the amount of Councils Contribution to the P. L. Hospital for current year of £200.4.8 as assessed by the Director Gen of Hospitals and same to be paid before 30 April 1945.

Nomination Day Highways Dept - Drawing attention to Regulation proclaimed in Govt Gazette appointing Saturday 5th May 1945 as the day for receiving Nominations for Councillors for 1945/46. Councillors Retire- Clerk reported that Cr R F Richardson, Louth Ward, G C Smith, Shannon Ward, and P Woods Lincoln Ward, retire by effluxion of time and are eligible for re-election. Returning Officer - Prop Cr Morgan/ Sec Cr Blacker} That Alfred H Taylor be appointed Returning Officer to conduct the Annual Election at the usual fee of £2.2.0. Carried

Polling Booths Shannon Prop Cr Smith/ Sec Cr Doudle}- That in the event of an Election by Ballot, additional Polling Places be opened at Kapinnie and Karkoo for Shannon Ward. Carried

W. C. Act Regulations New Zealand Insurance Coy advised the amendments of Workmans Compensation Act providing for payment of certain medical expenses by the Insurance Coy. Recd

Telephone Line Hull R E Wangary requested permission to erect a Telephone Line along the road from present PMG Line to Section 228 Hd of Lake Wangary Prop Cr Doudle/ Sec Cr Richardson} - That permission to erect this line be granted. Carried.

Re Application for grant Clerk reported that as the £350 Govt Grant allotted for Clearing and grading on road through Section 5 (now 86) Hd Wanilla has now been spent, he had written applying for a further £100 to enable the grading to be completed to Wanilla Siding.

Report Overseers Report was read Prop Cr Richardson/ Sec Cr Blacker} - That Overseers Report as read be adopted. Carried.

Requests Cr Woods requested that pipes be supplied for a job passed same time ago on road near CW Chapmans. Carried Also for some work to be done on road near R Hanchants. Granted.

Cr Smith spoke in favour of the suggestion of calling meeting of Ratepayers in the various Wards to organise a better system of Fire Fighting. Cr Blacker asked that some bad patches on the Kapinnie Road be repaired as soon as labour is available. Granted. Accounts - Prop Cr Smith/ Sec Cr Wood} - That accounts as read be passed for payment.
