T Proude re state of Charlton Creek Crossing and requested that same be put in order. Prop Cr Richardson/ Sec Cr Smith}
That as it has been reported to Council that the crossing is in reasonable condition at present, nothing can be done just yet.
Carried.
Messrs N.S Trigg, KA Trigg, and AW Gower all wrote in reference to flood waters on their properties, which they state was caused by the Road level at the creek being raised, causing the water to bank up and cross the road further north into their properties.
This was left to Cr Ford and the Overseer to see the best thing to do and suggested that the crossing might be lowered as a temporary measure. This crossing was always a boggy patch
in wet weather until the roadway was raised.
Secy Progress Association requested that 2 extra Street Lights be installed one on each side of the Cummins Institute, and also that a full list of Ratepayers names of Mortlock Ward be supplied to Postmaster at Cummins.
The matter of lights was held over and Cr Ford to obtain further information- As soon as the New Assessment is adopted - A copy of same will be sent to the Postmaster, as is done evry year, for inspection by Ratepayers.
AL Hill requested that new Road through Elder Smith & Cos Block be opened at once, so that they nwill not have to go through School property. Clerk to reply that all the land at the rear of Lots 5 & 6 & 7 is now School property, the Department having exchanged the land for the Road for the blind street at the rear of Lots 6 & 7.
