Minutes of Meeting held on Dec 17th. 1915

Present Jas OShanahan in the Chair Cr Hartley, Forbes, Morgan & Puckridge.

Minutes of Previous meeting read & Confirmed.

Financial Statement read. Correspondence Letter from Sec Com Crown Lands re timber being removed from Warunda Reserve. Clerk to reply. Letter from Same Office re exchange on Gov Grants. received. Letter from Deputy Com of Taxes re area of Blk 39 Kiana Letter from Federal Taxation Office asking to be supplied with a ratepayer roll. Clerk to supply same.

Letter from Military Dept re Recruiting.

Letter from same office re recruiting check slips. Also requesting to know if the Chairman would undertake to form a Committee to Canvas the Dist for recruits also Cr Hall Cr Morgan. Clerk to reply that the matter would be taken in hand at an early date. Carried.

Lettter from Crown Lands Office recommending certain improvement in road Construction - Received

Letter from Surveyor General re arrears of Wire Netting Instalments. Received

Sand Drift. Opinion received from C E Cleland regarding the Council responsibility of same.

Letter from Messrs Joyner Shepherd & Phillips re Clelands advice & other matters. Resolved that Clerk collect all arrears on all Jumped allotments Memo from Crown Lands Office stating that 3/7/- had been paid to the Councils credit for proportion of Hawkes Licences. Letter from L McArthur re Compensation for road through his land. Stating that he expected payment for same. Received.

Letter from Mrs Goodwin & others asking for use of Council Hall on Tuesday afternoon for Sewing meeting. Moved by Cr Hartley ) that the request be granted free 2nd by Cr Forbes ) of cost - Carried.

Spurrs Netting. Letter from T Carey stating that netting had been erected on boundary of Spurrs land.

Letter from Concrete Co stating that Pipes would be shipped to Louth & would arrive on the 18th inst.

Letter from Sect Yeelana Vig Committee re bad state of road near H C Roediger. Also referred to Rolling of road at Yeelanna.

Letter from W G Randall re burning rubbish on the Beach along Tasman Terrace. Received

Netting adjustments. Letter from R Bratten re Wire netting adjustments between Lincoln & Tumby.

Letter from Messrs Taylor & Garrett asking the Council to have glass & rubbish cleaned from off the Beach - request granted.

Moved by Cr Puckridge ) That H OBrien be offered 2nd by Cr Forbes ) 12/- per day to 30th June 1916 to provide Horse & Dray & do work as suggested. Carried Letter from A Hague - re Wire Netting on his pro[perty.

Letter from C Hawkins requesting the Council to subscribe to the Deaf & Dumb Institution - decided that the Council cannot see their way clear to comply with the request.

Memo from Packard & Seddon re alteration of address.

Memo from Sand Bags Committee - received

Accounts General £133.8.6 Main Road £209.13.9 Account A £59.14.6

Moved by Cr Hartley ) That the A/cs as read be 2nd by Cr Puckridge ) passed for payment. Carried.

Councillor Hartley asked that the Council pay the balance of debt (Vig) £5.0.9 on Flinders Square. Cancelled declined to accept the liability.

Councillor Hartley stated the he considered it advisible that a representativeof the Council should meet all returned Soldiers. Resolved that the matter be left in the hands of the Cheer-up Society.

Cr Hartley moved that the Clerk be instructed to send a letter of Condolence to Messrs Hyde, Fraser, Hawson & Sage. 2nd by Cr Morgan. Carried

Cr Forbes wished to know on what terms the Park Lands were let - which had been fenced off by Mr Garrett. Resolved that the Overseer investigate the matter & report at the next meeting.

Overseer report read & adopted.

Resolved that recommendations made by the Main Road Inspector be carried out. Meeting adjourned.
