Minutes of Dist Council Meeting held 21st Feby 1920 Present All Cr OShan in the Chair Minutes of Previous meeting read & Confirmed

Financial Statement submitted & read. Correspondence From Sec Lands stating that application had been made to transfer Blk E Kiana & 16A Mitchell & asked what amounts were due for wire netting Instalments - A/c sent £6-19-3 due From same office Acknowledging letters re A.L.Hills application for wire netting transfer of netting from 39 Hd Shannon to 19 Mitchell. Also Statement sent re wire Netting Instalments due by Council. Also from Same Office re A.L.Hills letter re obtaining a loan for wire netting & reply sent.

Destitute Bd. Lettrers received from Chairman Dest Bd re G. Garrett.

Sect 105 Lin. Letter from Public Trustees re G.A.Schraders A/cs for rates & Netting Instalments & referred same to Collectors of Customs Pt Adelaide A/cs sent on as requested. Peace Loan Honor Tablet Letter from Dept Registrar Com Gen Stating that Honor Tablet had been forwarded to Lincoln. Moved Cr Hall that Tablet be handed over to the Institute Committee for erection in some suitable place at the Institute. 2nd Cr Morg & carried.

Memo from Local Gov Dept. stating that the Local Gov Association meeting would be held in Adelaide on March 5th next. & submitted agenda paper for same.

Military Blankets Letters from Defence Dept stating that the time for supplying blankets had been extended to 7/4/20. Also that order for 48 had been received & asked that Cheque be sent for same.

Circular from Dr Barnards Home soliciting subscriptions for same. Moved by Cr Hall, That £1-1-0 be sent to the Home 2nd Cr McFarlane & Carried.

Notice receeived from Wm Henderson Stating that a meeting of the Bishops Creditors would be held at his office on Saturday 7th Feby 1920 A/cs sent in.

Letter from Victor H Ryan asking for a reply to letter sent on Dec 11th last - referred to Progress Committee.

Letter from Com of Audit acknowledging receipt of Vouchers sent.

Letter from E & F Ward re work done on road between Sects 35 & 36 Hd Mortlock, reply sent that Overseer would inspect.

Road asked for Via 532 & others Lin Letter from S . Cooper stating that he would have to ask the full price of Allotment (Viz) £40 for lot if taken for a Road. Received.

Letter from A Leich asking permission to lease portion of blind st (Kings) adjoining his land (lot 199) Granted @ 5/- per year paid in advance.

Letter from J Johannsen re rates Wire net Instalments Also Road work asked for. Received.

Woods & Forest Dept Annual progress report received from the Woods & Forest Dept.

Cemetery Lake Hamilton Letter from P.L. Kelly asking Council to have fence erected around Lake Hamilton Cemetery. Resolved that Mr Wollaston be requested to have the fence erected at once.

Subdn of lots 178-179 Plan of Subdivision of Allotments 178/9 submitted for Councils approval. Moved by Cr McFarlane That the plan be referred back to Mr Dorward with suggestion that each lot consist of ¼ acre 2nd Cr Hall & Carried Statement of 1920 wire netting Instalments submitted comparing Council & Gov Books.

Cr Morgan asked that Mellee on road between Hender & Gores also at 22nd Mile Post be cut away.

Cr Simes stated that he received a protest from Natives at Poonindie re Burial Grounds being destroyed. Also stated that about 40 chs of Road leading to A Wares needed repairing, Overseer to inspect same. Also mentioned that the Big Swampy Ford should be widened Resolved that the fence be repaired.

Petition from B.J.Stockham. F.B.Puckridge & others asking that Liverpool St be made the full width of road.

Cr Simes asked that a good Gravel Pit be secured Overseer asked to keep a look out for same.

Cr O'Shanahan asked that Council grant Clerk & Overseer a bonus of £20 each. supported by all Councillors. Payment to be made £10-0-0 to 31/12/19 & £10-0-0 at 30 June 1920.

Overseers Report read. Moved by Cr Puckridge That the O/S report be adopted & that Maintenance material be tendered for 2nd by Cr Simes & carried.

Tenders were then opened & Considered.
