Minutes of Meeting held February 24th 1911

Present all. Councillor Bruce in the chair Minutes of last meeting tead and confirmed. The Chairman explained that be could ot attend as a delegate to the New Asssessment protest meeting held in Adelaide, but arrranged for a substitute in his stead. Financial statements read by the Chairman. Correspondence Letter from Crown Lands Office asking permission to use the Council Chamber and Offices for the purposes of Drill Instruction. Secombes motion, Moved by Cr Secombe } That the Council has Seconded by Cr Puckridge} not suitable premises for the purpose. Carried Letter from Surveyor General re wire netting Loans. Letter from Crown Lands Office re Main Road grant and subsidy. Letter from Surveyor General re taking material off Poonindie Bridge. Memo from Crown Lands Office stating that amount of subsidy £180.19.1,also £506 to Main Road A/c. Letter from A P Batt re extension of time for payment of rates. Letter from J McEvoy re the same matter. Moved by Cr Cronin } That Mr Batt be given one month Seconded by Cr Secombe} extension of time to date from date of this meeting with 5% added - Carried. Petition from ratepayers in Hd of Louth re making crossing over Meadows Creek. Moved by Cr Parker } that overseer to inspect same and Seconded by Cr Secombe} report at next meeting. Carried.

Minutes of Feb 24th Contd

Councillors Morgan called attention to a hole in the road at Wangary Bridge, also to scrub on road near Lincoln. resolved that Overseer attend to same. Moved by Cr Secombe } That Clerk submit a statement of Seconded by Cr Puckridge} rates collected, and amount spent in each Ward. - Carried. Cr Secombe called attention to hole forming a puddle near the Town trough. Overseer to have same attended to at once. Wire Netting Application from D Harris Sec 23 Hd Kiana, 28 rolls. Moved by Cr Morgan } That application be sent on to Surveyor Seconded by Cr Puckridge} General for his approval. - Carried

Minutes of Meeting Feb. 24th contd.

Overseers Report read. Re metalling at Mortlock. Cr. Cronin suggested that Mr. Barrett be notified that the matter stand over. Cr. Bruce called attention to the picket fence being broken on Tasman Terrace, and suggested that no horses be allowed to be tied up at the said fence. Moved by Cr Morgan } Seconded by Cr Secombe }That Overseers report be adopted as read. - Carried Applications for Clerk received and considered Moved By Cr. Secombe} Seconded by CrPuckridge} That G.H. Giles be appointed as Clerk. - Carried Moved By Cr. Secombe} Seconded by Cr Puckridge }That £500 be sent to Surveyor General for payment of wirenetting A/cs Moved By Cr. Puckridge} Seconded by Cr Morgan} That well at Mt. Hope be repaired. - Bucket and rope to be supplied - Carried
