Minutes of Dist Council held 17th July 1920 Present Cr Oshan. McFarl. Morgan, Simes,Puckridge & Hall. Cr McF was elected Presiding officer to elect Chairman Moved Cr Morgan that Cr O'Shan be Chairman for year 2nd Cr Simes & Carried. Chairman thanked members for his re election. Minutes of previous meeting read & Confirmed. Balance Sheets. General A/c. Main Road & Wire Netting A/c with Auditors report thereon submitted & read. Moved by Chairman, "That the balance sheets & Auditors report be adopted, 2nd by Cr Puckridge & Carried.

Correspondence. 1. Wire net Instal due S.G. to stand over. Letter from Sec Lands dated 5th July 1920 stating that the Instalments due last Febry would be allowed to Stand over until 1/2/21.

2. Land Tax on Allot to be sold. From Com of Taxes asking Council to make known that Block to be offered for sale would be subject to arrears of Land Tax.

3. Netting Loan. From Sec Land re loans granted on Blks 10 & 17 Hd Shannon

4. A.L.Hill Application From same office re petition from A.L.Hill for a loan on Blk 16 Cummins.

5. Fleets Visit Pt Lincoln Letter from Dist Naval Officer stating that owing to change of programme, The Fleet would not visit Port Lincoln at present, But were looking forward with pleasure to visiting the Port in the future.

6. Wheat for Fowls. Letter from Chief Sec Office. Stating that Instructions had been given to sell inferior wheat for Poultry in 5 bag lots.

7.War Service Homes Letter from Sec War Service homes Commission asking Council to make valuations & Surveys for same. when require. reply sent. 8. Wire Letters from Harris Scarfe stating that they could not supply wire required by Council. 9. Blk 5B Wanilla. Letter from W.A.A. West asking for particulars of amounts due on Blk 5B Wanilla - same sent. 10. War Service Homes. Letter from Manager War Service homes stating that A.T. Harroway had purchased lot 675 Lincoln. 11. Federal Income Tax From Federal Income Taxation office asking Council to make returns for year ending 30th June 1920 12. Motor Traffic Opinion received from J.Shepherd regarding Councils Power with Motor traffic on roads. Moved by Cr McFarlane That Council apply to have Dist of Lincoln Proclaimed to make by laws dealing with motor traffic. 2nd Cr Morgan & Carried.

12. Soldiers Cemeterys Letter from Sec Soldiers Welfare Committee with a view of Council raising funds in the Dist for the Soldiers Cemetery. received.

Cont 19.20 Letter from H.J. Hender stating that he was unable to carry out the works let to him (Viz) Contracts 19 & 20. Resolved that all tenders held by Hender be cancelled.

Football Assoc. Letter from Sec Pt Lincoln Football Association Stating that steps were being taken to prevent any further disturbances taking place in the Hall on Oval during Football matches.

Kimba V. Com Letter from Sec Kimba Vigilance Committee asking Council to protest against the increase Freight proposed by the A.S.S.Co & to urge the Gov to run a line of Steamers to the West Coast.

Application for Council Hall Application to hire Council Hall on Saturdays afternoons for Childrens dance Class from Miss E Brougham. Proposed Cr Simes, That Council regret that they cannot acceed to your request as the Hall is fully occupied. 2nd Cr Puck & Carried.

Application for Loan Application for Loan of £100 under the Vermin Act from A.L.Hill, ( received from Secy Lands). Resolved that this Council after approaching Morg & Trust cannot see their way clear to recommend the loan. Fencing Loan Application from H.C.Roediger for a loan of £200 under the "Fencing Acts". Resolved That the Council consider the loan under estimated. Also that Council do not consider the security good enough to sanction the granting of Loan. Carried. Petition from Hockley, Walkom & others Asking Council to make a Footpath 15 chs west of Raiway Crossing at Cummins. Also to Form & grade Street. Resolved that work be done when weather permits & grader is available.
