District Council of Lincoln Minutes of Meeting held on 21st June 1946 Present Cr W G Morgan (Chair) H J Blacker, Jas Doudle, R F Richardson, G C Smith, P Woods also Clerk A H Taylor & Overseer K S McFarlane Minutes of Previous Meeting read & Confirmed. Financial Statement showed a Credit of £5421.7.2 Correspondence Hospitals Dept advised that Messrs P Woods & P S Sinclair had been appointed as members of P L Hospital Advisory Committee for year 1946. Central Bd of Health stating that the appointment of Dr Alan J Clarkson as Medical Officer to Local Board had been approved.

Supt S A Railways P.L. acknowledging recpt of letter of 20.5.46 re crossing required at 12m 40 chs. Will receive attention. Clerk reported that R. Engineer Waterworks had since received intention from the Supt that a crossing at that point would not be safe for a crossing, owing to grade, and that a road has been provided & opened to connect with the road at the nearest crossing there from.

J W Murch applied to have portion of the road opposite Sec 15 Hd Lincoln closed and to lease to him the then closed portion to him for a workshop for boat building purposes, and that he is prepared to pay a reasonable cost of the Closing of the road. Resolved that the survey necessary for Closing the road be prepared as soon as a Surveyor is available 190' x 100'.

Secy to E H Russell MHR - re Councils letter in reference to Net Fishing in Coffin Bay & that he would advise Council later what action had been taken in the matter.

R W Pearson MP also wrote in reply to Councils letter re same and the Minister of Agriculture would go into the matter and see what could be done.

Dept of Labour & Nat Service re District Employment Office and that efforts are being made to place suitable labour with employers.

C Wade Thistle Island re arrears of Rates due by him. Held over until next meeting.

K E Harris - re bad state of Road to Section 16B Hd Mortlock. Overseer reported that he had made arrangements with Mr Harris to do the necessary repairs.

Director of Lands in reference to the month of July as Winter period for Simulaneous Destruction of Vermin.

PMG Dept advised their intention to lay a cable for Whites Flat PO, for 50 yds to Telephone Pole.

Overseers Report for month read Prop Cr G C Smith/ Sec Cr Richards} That Overseers Report as read be adopted. Carried.

Request by Cr Blacker That road from Cummins P.O. to Recreation Ground be repaired. Request by Cr Blacker That Main Road near Cemetery be repaired. These to be done. Prop Cr Doudle /Sec Cr Woods} That accounts as read be passed for Payment. General A/c £1069.3.10 Govt Grants A/c £368.17.8 Carried

Cr Morgan referred to Crs Blacker and Doudle who are both contesting the election in their Wards and stated that if they were not returned they would be missed by the Councillors left, and wished them every success. Cr Richardson & Smith also spoke and Cr Blacker replied.
