Minutes of Meeting hold March 19th 1915

Present All Councillor Jas OShanahan in the Chair

Minutes of previous meeting read and Confirmed

Financial Statment were read by the Chairman

Circular from Press Association asking the Council to local Printers

Letters from R.J.Holdman & W.A. Dorward Re Rate & Wire Netting Instalments Clerk to reply Petition from AH Wollaston & others asking to have the Road from Charlton to Wanilla Railway Siding put in order Overseer to report on Same at next meeting

Letter from L.W. Argent Re Valuation & Improvements on BLK 5 Hd Flinders

Moved by Cr Hartley. That Mr.Argent be granted one mile of Netting on BLK 5 & that the Clerk notify Mr Argent, That the Council did not consider that the land was worth the full amount applied for The Motion lapsed Petition from E Sullivan & others asking that Flinders & Poynts Street at Edilillie be Cleared & Gravelled Tenders to be Called for next Meeting

Meeting held 19/3/15

Letter from Sec Yeelanna Vig Committee Re Rubbish Depot at Yeelanna. Overseer stated the land had been procured & Notice Board had been placed on the Land.

Varley & Evan letter from Messrs Varley & Evan Re Titles to New & old Roads in the Hd of Louth & Shannon. Clerk to reply asking them to procure the Titles.

Letter from WA Dorward re Mill at Two Wells Clerk to reply that the users of well must keep the mill in order.

Notice from Messrs Joyner Shephers & Phillips Re CT Parkers meeting of Creditors. Received.

Allotment 553 Agreement submitted to Transfer Allotment No 553 from D Green to the District Council of Lincoln for the sum of £21-7-0 Resolved that Clerk have the agreement altered to price agreed upon (Viz) £20.

Letter from Dist Headmaster of 4th Military District Thanking the Council for services rendered in sending recruits for Enlistment.

Account A. Wire from Commissioner of Crown Lands Stating that money could be taken from Account A for Pillana Road. Councillor Hall. Stated the conditions under which the land could be procured.

Meeting held 19/3/15 Continued.

Letters from G Dorward & Varley & Evan asking that By Law No 18. To Regulate the Stacking & Storing of Hay or Chaff in any Township be modified. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Council see no reason to alter the present by law. 2nd by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Wire Netting Instalment Letter from Surveyor General Stating that no further Netting would be granted untill all 1915 Instalments had been paid. Clerk stated that he had written the Sur Gen asking him to reconsider the matter of Granting Netting. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Clerks actions be endorsed Seconded by Cr Hartley. Carried

Circular from Com of Crown Lands Re Advertisements being placed on District Council Properties. Moved by Cr Morgan. That the Public be notified That posters cannot be placed on the Councils property & That the Adelaide Chemical Works be requested to remove their adv from off the 25th Mile Post. Seconded by Cr Hartley. Carried

Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Clerk look up the by laws & report at next meeting. Carried

Letter from SA Wilkin asking to Transfer 2 miles of Netting to T Crease. Blk 44 Shannon. request Granted.

Meeting held 19/3/15 Continued

Letter from Lady Galway Re Belgian Relief Funds. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Council call a meeting of the Townspeople with a view to form a Committee to Collect funds for the Belgian relief Funds. Carried.

Letter from Surveyor General Re Raiway Freight on Kammermans Wire nettings. Clerk stated that Kammerman had paid the freight & that same would be sent on to the Government.

Accounts. General Funds 175-9- Account A 67-8-0 Moved by Cr Hall .That the a/cs be passed for payment 2nd by Cr Hartley. Carried

The following Wire netting Applications were received. P Kain 2 Miles 36" G Watherstone ½mile of 42" R Brown 1½ miles 36" & A King 1 mile 42" Moved by Cr Hartley. That the applications be sent on in the usual way if same were in order. 2nd by Cr Morgan. Carried

Street Cleaning & Lamp Lighting Applications were then submitted.

Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Standing order be suspended while dealing with the applications. Seconded by Cr Hartley. Carried Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Applications be dealt with by Exhaustive Balot.

Meeting held 19/3/15 Continued

Cr Hall Moved as an amendment That the Applications be dealt with in Committee. 2nd by Cr Morgan. The amendment was carried. Crs Hall Morgan & Puckridge for the amendment Against Crs Garrett & Hartley

Committee. The Council then went into Committee to consider the Applications. Applications. TE Patterson EH Behr ET Brown E Dittmar H O'Brien J Carey H Arbon After consideration Cr Puckridge moved That H O'Brien be appointed to the position 2nd by Cr Hall & Supported by Cr Morgan. Carried.

Councillor Hall asked that the overseer be instructed to inspect the road from Mortlock Hall to Edillilie, & Also stated that he had authorised Mr Read to metal a small piece of Rd in Hd Shannon.

Councillor Hartley asked that the Footpath at Correll House Kirton Point be repaired Resolved that overseer attend to same.
