District Council of Lincoln Minutes of meeting held 17th May 1930

Financial Statement Submitted

Correspondence Mr H. Puckridge wrote cancelling his application to lease part of Park Lands at Coulta.

Yeelanna Vigilence Committee. Letter received from the Secretary, asking Council to have the fence moved back, at a point opposite the 52nd mile post on the Yeelanna - Kaldow Road. Mr Skipworth to be written to asking him to move his fence back where stated.

Highways & Local Government Letter received from the Secretary stating the Commissioner of Highways has approved of this Council charging to Govt Grants A/c, half cost of Big Champion Grader, provided the machine is made available for work on Main Roads.

Mechanical Supplies Ltd. Reply from the Manager Mechanical Supplies Ltd, re cost of Big Champion Grader, Stub pole, & extra Cutting Edge

Moved by Cr Simes that a "Big Champion 8ft Grader" be ordered, with stub pole, & extra cutting edge. seconded by Cr Blacker. Carried

Kapinnie Vigilence Committee / The Secretary wrote, making various requests re road repairs. Road to be grubbed 16 ft wide, for 1 mile by day gang.

Mr O. W. Harder wrote applying for permission to erect a Plume Petrol sign on the side of the Main St Edillilie. Mr Harder to be granted permission to erect Plume Petrol sign.

Eyre Peninsula Local Govt Assn / Notice received from the Secretary that the Agenda Paper is being prepared for the next Conference, & the Council should forward particulars of any matter they wish brought forward to be discussed. / Council have nothing they wish to be brought forward.

Secretary for Lands / Wrote, stating the Hon. the Commissioner of Crown Lands, has approved of this Council being granted permission to lease portion of Park Lands at Coulta.

Mt Hope Vigilence Committee / The secretary wrote requesting Council to improve the road, from the old Coast Road through to Pt Drummond, & for the Overseer to inspect the old Coast Road from south of the cemetery, to JH Vigar's homestead re grading & metalling a portion of it.

Overseer will inspect road re grading & metalling, from the old Coast Road to Mr Vigar's homestead

Yeelanna Vigilence Committee / Letter received with the request that the Council have about 35 chains of the Township grubbed, as shown on sketch attached to petition.

Reply to be sent, no funds available at present to do the work.

Signs on Main Roads / The Secretary Local Govt Department wrote, advising he is directed by the Com. of Highways to desire Councils to refuse permission for the erection of advertising Road Signs, these signs being mainly for advertisement; & in some cases, giving incorrect information.

Mr AC Solly Letter received from Mr Solly; applying to hand over all roads & Terraces in the sub-divisions of Part Section 3 Hundred Cummins. The expense of transferring same to be borne by the Syndicate (Solly) / This Council wll take over the roads & Terraces in survey "Solly's Syndicate"

Cummins Vigilence Committee The Secretary wrote to suggest, the road from the intersection of the Warrow - Mt Drummond Road, to the Kapinnie Road (passed L.N. Firth's property) be grubbed. Work to be done by daywork.

Application for Vermin Loan from T.H. Wood

Application for Fencing Loan from Jones & Turner Applications to be forwarded to the Govt.

Annual Elections Clerk stated that Councillors Blacker, and Morgan retire by effluction of time. Cr H.J. Blacker for councillor for Mortlock Ward, & Cr WG Morgan as Councillor for Warrow Ward

Returning Officer Moved by Cr Simes that Miss Beckwith be appointed Returning Officer to conduct the following elections at the usual fee, Seconded by Cr Puckridge. Carried
