Minutes of Council Meeting held Nov 20th 1920

Present Cr O'Shanahan in the Chair Cr McFarlane Morgan Simes Halls & Puckridge.

Minutes of Previous meeting read & Confirmed also Financial Statement read

Correspondence Blks 22n Mort & 28S Cum Notice from the Secretary of Lands, stating that it was the intention of the Govt to cancel Blks 22n Hd Mortlock & Blk 28s Hd Cummins.

Price of Wire Netting From the Sec Lands stating that the Gov could supply wire netting as follows. 36 + 1½ +18 @ £56.12.0 per mile 42 + 1½ + 18 @ £64.15.0 per mile No 8 Black wire £29 per ton at Store on trucks Port Adelaide.

Sec 81 Lincoln From same office re application to transfer Sect 81 Hd Lincoln & asked what amounts were due for wire net Instalment on same. reply sent.

200 Grant for newly set areas From Local Gov Dept stating that £200 had been granted for roads in newly settled areas.

Bush Fires Act From same office asking Council to strictly enforce the "Bush Fires Act"

Local Gov Dept Annual Report for 1919-20 received.

Inspector of Rd report From same office re Inspecting of Rds & Inspector report attached.

Hawkers Licence From Same Office stating that £3.8.2 proportion of Hawkers Licence fees had been paid to Councils credit £3.7.11 Street Lights Letter from Dept Post Master General regarding the attachment of E.L.Wires to Telephone Poles & stated that the Act would not permit of Telephone Poles being used for this purpose

Circular From Keswick Military Barracks re Books. Forms and ect sent to Recruiting Committee to be returned.

From Supt Soldiers Settlement giving list of men in this Dist who are being assisted under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act showing land held & Etc.

From Chairman Destitute Board asking for list of Storekeepers in this Dist. same sent.

From the Southern Electric Co re Lighting Streets & Etc Clerk to send plan & ask for rough estimate. Carried

Insurance of Buildings From Joyner Phillips & Joyner stating that Insurance on Council Buildings & Contents expires on 3/11/20 & asks if they should renew the Policy. Moved by Cr Simes that the Insurance be increased to Six Hundred. 2nd Cr McFarlane & Carried.

Lincoln Hospital From the Chief Sec Office acknowledging Councils Letter of the 11th inst. requesting information regarding the placing of the Hospital at Pt Lincoln under the Management of a Board.

From the S.A.Reinforced Concrete Co stating that they had shipped Pipes as ordered.

Circular From S H Manners re Patent Screw wedge wire lock.

From Sec Returned Soldiers Imperial League Pt Lincoln Branch asking if Council would allow returned soldiers to graze their Horses on the oval. Received.

From District Foreman S.A.Railways giving notice re burning grass along the Railway lines.

Application from Mrs A W Brougham to have her name inserted in the Assessment Book as occupier of Pt Block 89 Town of Lincoln. Moved Cr McFarlane that Mrs A W Broughams name be inserted in assessment Book 2nd by Cr Morgan & Carried.

Plan of Parish Hall Plan of Parish Hall proposed to be erected by St Thomas Church submitted for Council approval. Moved by Cr Simes that Plan of Parish Hall as submitted be approved of. 2nd Cr McFarlane & Carried.

Letter from W. Gunn Sheringa stating that he had sold his Property to J B Ayliffe of 4 Alma Chambers McHenry St Adelaide

Two orders received from I Halls in favour of J.K.Bishop 3.10.0 & H.C.Wollaston £3 & £5 on Dec 18th.

Presentation made by Chairman to T.E.Green of 1914/15 stars on behalf of Royal Aust Navy.

Petition from J H Woods P T Cockran & others to have road 49 & 56 put in good order. Moved by Cr Simes that Tenders be called for next meeting 2nd Cr McFarlane & Carried.
