Pleasant as it would have been to go down to Indianapois once more and see my friends there, time did not permit me to do so, I had to hasten on. I wish therefore in this poor way to express my appre- [appreciation]

places of California have to be looked up in valleys and out of the way corners. Now I am going home by the Konigin Luise, sailing from New York May 14th and hope to be with my people before the end of the month.

My hope and address after August next will be Kalmar Garden

That will be sufficient; Kalmar being an old and well known city but not very large.

I find it quite difficult to write legibly on this train but did not wish to delay writing as my time is getting pretty well filled up.
