My dear Mrs. Sewall
I am very sorry to appear so rigid but it almost impossible for me to be away from Hull House long at a time. I shall have to ask to have my appointment with the Alumnae Association Friday morning so that I may reach Hull House by Saturday morning. I assume

that there is a train leaving Indianapolis for Chicago Friday afternoon or evening. If I can take a night train and still reach Chicago by Saturday at 9 a.m., I should be willing to speak Friday evening. Otherwise I shall be obliged to speak in the morning. I shall have to ask you to consult [Miss?] Charity Dye 188 Broadway. If I stay on until Friday evening (if the trains do run) I shall be obliged to speak to the High School

in the morning, an invitation I had refused for the sake of the Alumnae appointment. If I stay until evening I should have to make that engagement. It will give me much pleasure to accept your invitation to lunch. Will you write me when you have fixed the time. Sincerely yours
Jane Addams
