My dear friend
If the name of the 'young sister from indiana' has passed from my memory - the pleasant impression remained, so that thy letter, waivy the complimentary lines, was read with great interest, & would have been acknowledged earlier but for the unsteady hand of my dread of the pen. The Paper too has since been received. I had seen some notice of the lecture - perhaps in the Ballot Box - but was glad to find I had some knowledge of the author & sorry I was that thou failed to come to me when in Philade. The lecture is just now the most important subject to prep on the attent'n of the young as well as on their instructors.
The cast thou enquires for is not now to be had in this city. The artist was a poor unitarian minister, whose friends wished to add a little to his salary - his name is forgotten - Instead
