THOMAS M. LOUISE JAN 12, 1889

680 Lexington Ave. New York Jany. 12 1889

My dear Mrs Sewell,

I want your prompt attention and help in a somewhat personal matter. I will enclose a letter which will explain the matter in hand. Return it to me when you are done with it and tell me how I can best carry out the plan. Send me by return mail a list of every bona fide Woman's Club in the Country, tell me too, if you can who it was who first proposed the calling together of such a convocation, when it was proposed, and where? proposer and originator to take the [?] [change?] of such a convention for them in Chicago. I request you to tell me, or if you do not know, to ascertain for me how much of this is true. Let us have the truth by all means, first of all. We are quite ready to call the meeting but the time is very short and I wish you to help me all you can as my term of office expires by [?] on our 21st [?] in March next. If you would send bother these letters to dear Rachel Foster and ask her to help me also, I will be glad.

I have been busy every minute since I saw you, - driven to death. I have moved from my old [Taeony?] home and [?] [?] settled yet in this new one, but feel that I shall be able to do better work for the [Chicago?] after awhile.

Our trunk [?] [?] the [?] and [?] in the West Point [?] disaster October 16th was [recovered?] day before yesterday, but we have not yet learned its condition. I fear it has suffered by the storage!

Yours faithfully M. Louise Thomas
