26 Rutland Square Boston Mass. May 26th 1888

My dear Friend, What a hurried farewell we had in Washington when we left each other!

The little package with gifts inside it which you sent to Phila arrived safely. I was very busy and am so now for there is no end of letters I have to write.

I have written nearly 50 letters in 48 hours and have to write many more. Hope I shall see you again in about 11 years if both of us live and all things go on as nicely as they are going now. I shall always remember with great pleasure the happy time I had with you and your kindness [home?]
