she accused him of being the father, whereupon he became furious,
left the hospital and discharged Barbara the next day so that she
was discharged in eight day. Apparently he does not think well
of the idea of acknowledging Beverly, nor contributing to her
care. Barbara's mother says she should sue him, (but of course
she always wants to sure everybody) Dr. Vash has recently
married a local girl in Hinsdale, where he is trying to start a
practise. I saw Beverly, but never saw Dr. Vash, and
probably could not tell anything if I had. Beverly has a
big mole on the right temple, but if she ever gets any hair it
will be unnoticed, She really seems like a
beautiful child - Heaven help her.

Barbara has ambition to keep and support her. Toby paid her first
week hospital bill $51., bought her a complete layette, and has
brought her flowers and ice cream every time she could get off
from her job at Westover.
