Among these plants grows
a variety. (at lease they are
frequently found together)
without any proper awns,
but only ye rudiments of 2
awns sitting on ye outer
angle of ye seeds in places
of ye 2 awns. These rudiments
are short — blunt with a broad
base & somewhate acuminated —
apearing like acuminated tuber=
=cles — with very short erect, fringe
like pricles, which extend round
ye seeds — or from ye base of ye rudi=
=ments of awns on each side ye
seeds — The the rays — & every
other part of ye plant — like
Bidens ramosa.
