an objectionable character: [Babit?]
has been almost if the same from
the beginning, fluctuating from year
to year, sometimes better and some
times worse, than the present year.

Independent of my own
recommendations and reports neg-
ating other means to be adopted
for supplying this Hatchery with Eggs,
Mr. McClusky has also [used?] that,
the present system is wholly inadequate
to stock the Establishment with ova.

I have therefore to respectfully
ask Your Department to take this
matter into consideration, with the
view that, remedial measures
may be adopted by which the St John
River Hatchery (which has superior
facilities, and complete appliances
for fish cultural work) shall be placed
upon a better footing in the future.
