Sir

Sir, Referring to the com-
munication had with you regarding
the fitting up of the lower flat
of the building now occupied by Your
Department for the Fisheries Exhibit,
I beg to state that, upon an examination
of the premises the lower flat could
be made very suitable for the general
work connected with Artificial
fish-breeding. Certain improvements
however will be necessary before
the room would be suitable to receive
the apparatus and the other appliances
requisite for carrying out the work.

I find upon measurement
the lower floor which is all in
one room is 62 feet long by 26 feet
broad, with eight stone pillars on
abuttments for sustaining the
floor above: these pillars somewhat
cut up and interfere with the plane
of the floor for placing hatching
troughs in a uniform measure.
