If you remember when at Ottawa we spoke of getting over a quantity of the Quinnat eggs,-- and I instructed Mowat to send 200,000, and also gave him special orders as to mode of shipment, and of packing them:-- Mowat now says he can readily spare a much larger number and speaks of some of [?] [?] If you think well of the prospects let me know and I will arrange accordingly.

Should the increased numbers of 700,000 be brought over, room might be found for them, say at the St. John River hatchery, and at some of the other Lower province Establishments.

large a number as 700,000 [?] sent from B.C. without some special messenger coming with them as the risk would be too great — with 200,000 say in one package there would be less chances of loss. However after reading Mowat’s letter you may decide to have Max. Mowat bring along the whole quantity, but can in any case let me know your views at once.
