Cloudy but a little warmer and more thawy -- In AM Senate roasted the devil out of the Reno Journal for sundry capitalized squibs scattered through its columns yesterday reflecting upon the Senatorial actions and possibilities regarding voting on the lottery question -- Sent a page letter to Judge Webster this evening regarding it -- inclosing the News legislative report of today -- clipped out for him to read -- My letter of the 10th to Gardnerville Record appeared in that paper yesterday -- 1 column -- Bed at 12 -- Partially clear -- warm & thawy

Saturday Feb 16

Cloudy, with strong warm wind from westward which carried off the snow very fast -- melting so fast as to create floods in various parts of town -- temperature about 60° regular "Chinook" warm wind -- PM light rains set in assisting very materially in dissolving the snow, making the streets fearfully muddy & sloppy -- great thaw and contrast to last Sunday, Monday & Tuesday mornings: 8°, 10° and 8° below zero.
