Dear Sir
When you purchased lot #4318 some
two years ago the lot was rough graded posted &
numbered for which a charge of $54.00 was made
which was specified on the memo of sale sent you
and to which no objection was made at the time.
In April 1875 I wrote you a note explaining the
charge, in answer I believe, to one sent to the Treasurer
of the Corporation by you.
Several weeks ago, Miss Stone, I think, inquired the
cost of sodding the lot and was informed $36 which with
the original charge of $54.00 would make $90 as low a
price as is ever charged for the grading sodding &
posting of the lots of this size.
I think both for your sake and ours the lot should be
completed & put in good order, and if you are here at any
time, I think I can readily satisfy you that both charges
are fair & just ones. The sodding of the lot, I shall wait to hear from
you about, and I hope you will settle the charge of $54 without
more delay.
Yours very truly
J.W. Lovering Supt.
