Dear Sir

I make the superficial measurement of
the floor of the New Receiving Tomb very nearly 800 sq feet
which you can verify from the measures taken by you.
I have put in a foundation of small stone 3 feet deep,
and I propose to level this with concrete to a surface
[depth?] of an inch below the top of the tiles.

I will give you $600 (six hundred dollars) to furnish
the tile repairs by Mr Wellington and have him lay
them in Portland cement in the most thorough and
careful manner, and to guarantee the work.

This price is intended to cover the whole cost of furnishing
& laying including packing, delivering, waste, [fees?] &c.
