Your favor of the 14 inst is received

In view of the losses and annoyance sustained by
the Corporation by the delay and neglect of parties
ordering work don on Public Lots in not promptly
paying such bills, I am instructed to execute no
work thereon except on prepayment.

Your order for flowers on grave 117 lot 3730
will not suffer by a short delay as we could
not set out plants with safety until about the middle
of May. I should advise very [?] against
trying to leave the grave mounded as in that
case it would in a moderately dry season
cause the flowers to dry up [?] of all
the care we could exercise. I shall be pleased
to furnish you any further information you may
desire
