Mrs. C.E. Fay
(54 Chestnut St. Charlestown)

Dear Madam

The Grade of your lot can
be raised three inches, but not more, as it would
not correspond well with the adjoining lots to make
it any higher. I think the appearance would be
much improved by removing the fence, and placing
ornamental granit posts at the corners of the lot &
at the entrance if you desire; a curbing all around
the lot would not look very well, as the lot is
somewhat irregular in shape.

I will remove the fence & posts; and regrade the lot
raising the grade as proposed above, with loam, & resod
it in the best manner after the corner posts are set for $65-
and the old fence & post. The tree in the lot I will remove
without Extra charge, if it is cut off, and if [?] the
grading; if the stump is to be dug out it will cut $4 or $5
more.

Yours very truly
J.W. Lovering Supt.

(Lot 2035)
