Dear Madam

Your favor to the Treasurer
of 30^th ult. was handed to me. I have questioned
the Gardener [relitive?] to lot 334. He states that
he did not name any price for the repairs to
the ivy as he was uncertain what the cost would
be until he had completed the work and the
order given Sep^t 18 1877 does not name any cost
as it would have had he give stated [figures?]
We need the following materials
and I consider the charge 2 1/2 loads loam @ $1.00 2.50
a perfectly fair and equitable 1/2 " manure " 3- 1.50
one 18 sq ft sods " 11.03 54

I trust these figures & 1 3/4 days labor @ 2.00 3.50
the explanation will make 28 Ivy plants @ 0.25 7.00
the matter satisfactory $15.04
