Chair. Comm. on Lots
Dear Sir
Mrs. George S. Priest intends planting
a border of myrtle around her lot between the corner posts,
about seventy five linear feet in all which will cost $35 to $40.
She has asked what sum will be necessary to place the
[myrtle?] under perpetual care, the lot having been sold with
the "perpetual care of grass" contract.
The annual Expense for covering, repairing &c would be $5.00
In this connection I desire to call your attention to the
fact that in lots under perpetual care in which are myrtle graves
kept in order under the perpetual care contract, new graves of myrtle
are now often planted for repairing which, no provision is made
and in fact it is often a difficult matter to know which it has been
agreed to take care of and which not. The myrtle [disptaces?] about
ten square feet of sod, and costs probably $1 pr. year. The present
cost of a myrtle grave is $7.00
I would like to suggest $17. as the price of a myrtle grave
under perpetual care in lots where the grass is already under
perpetual care $10 of which amount could be placed in the repair fund.
Respectfuly J.W. Lovering
