Dear Madam
In answer to your note of June 27th
I would say, that the contracts for perpetual care, provide
only for what is on the lot at the time it is taken, as
you may see by referring to the contract and the
Examination and survey of the lot referred to in it.
As putting in myrtle or ivy does increase the cost of
keeping the lot in order, the Trustees have directed me in
all cases to make such a charge as I proposed to make
you, which provides both for the present cost of putting in
the ivy, and for keeping it in order, watering, and covering in winter.
Hoping that this Explanation may make the reason for
the charge clear and satisfactory to you
I am respectfuly
J.W. Lovering
Mrs R.M. Lawrence
83 Newburg St
Boston.
