Ald. McIntyre objects that the By Law is not in
accordance with the advertisement - that the advertisement
contains a notice of the opening up of the street from Johnson
street to Princess street connecting Sydenham street (North with
Sydenham south in terms the present By Law is merely for the
opening up from Johnson street to Brock street.

Mayor overruled objection

The Report was then received

The 30th Rule was again suspended

Ald. Redden moves seconded by Ald. Gildersleeve

That the By Law be now read a third time

In amendment 1st

Ald. Thompson moves seconded by seconded by Ald. Dunn

That the By Law be so amended and that Sydenham
street be opened to Princess from Johnson instead of as described
in By Law as read and that the City Solicitor be instructed
to make the necessary alterations on said By Law and that the
by law do not pass as at present

In Amendment 2nd

Ald. McIntyre moves seconded by Ald. Robinson

That if it be deemed advisable to open up Sydenham
street to Brock street, the said opening up be carried out in accordance
with those clauses in the Municipal Act which provide for the assessment
of the parties immediately benefitted by the opening aforesaid
and that the By Law be not passed as at present - which -
being put was lost as was also the first amendment -
yeas and nay on 1st Amendment

That in the opinion of this Council it is inadvisable
to pass the By Law at the present stage in asmuch as the
advertisement mentioned in it provides for the opening
up of a street from Johnson street to Princess street, whereas the
present By Law provides for the opening up of a street from
Johnson street to Brock street - which being put was lost
