The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the following
resolution adopted in Committee of the whole

On motion of Ald. McIntyre seconded by Ald. Robinson

Ordered, That the petitions read and the subject of
the extended By Law be referred to a Committee comprised of
the members for Rideau and Victoria Wards and Aldermen
O'Brien and Gardiner to examine into and report and that
the proposed by law be printed - and that the Committee rise
and report.

The Report was received.

On motion of Ald. McIntyre seconded by Ald. Robinson

Ordered, that in the absence of Ald. Carson, Ald.
Dunn be requested to act as Chairman of Fire, Water & Gas

On motion of Ald. Hiscock seconded by Ald. Jas. Wilson

Ordered, That the City Engineer be instructed
to remove the two trees fronting on the property of John
Willis King street opposite the Knitting Mill.

On motion the Council adjourned

of the City of Kingston was held this day. Present

Gildersleeve, Harty, Hiscock, Irwin, Little
McIntyre, McKay, O'Brien, Redden, Robinson
Shannon, Thompson, J. Wilson, W. Wilson

The Mayor stated the meeting was called to take
up the Budget for the year and general business

The Council went into Committee of the whole
on the Budget and Report of Finance Committee therein

Ald. Irwin in the Chair

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported
the following resolution adopted in Committee of
the whole.

On motion of Mayor Whiting seconded by Ald. Harty

Ordered, That the Report of the Finance Committee
be received and adopted

It was moved and seconded that the report be received.

In Amendment

Ald. Gildersleeve moves seconded by Ald. O'Brien

That the Amount for streets be increased to $24000
of
