The Committee rose, and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause as amended
The Report was received
Ald. Carson moves seconded by Ald. Eilbeck
That the terms, provisions and conditions contained
in the proposed agreements between the Kingston Electric Light
Company (Limited) and the Corporation of the City of Kingston
copies of which said agreements are hereunto annexed marked
A. and B. respectively, are hereby adopted and agreed to and
the Mayor is hereby authorised to enter into and execute the said
agreements on behalf of the said Corporation of the City of Kingston

Ald. Harty moves seconded by Ald. Gildersleeve
That whilst approving the adoption of the Electric
Light for street lighting purposes this Council is of the
opinion that in view of an expected early acquisition of the
Water Works Cos. plant which will render the use of the Electric
Light more economical by the City procuring their own electric
Light Plant and running the same in connection with the Water
Works plant this Council is of opinion that the agreement with
the Electric Light Co. should be postponed for the present
which being put was [underline]lost[/underline]

reading of the By Law clause by clause as amended. The
Report was received. The 30th Rule was again suspended
and the By Law was read a third time and passed
Ald. Gildersleeve introduced a By Law to appoint
Deputy Returning officers for Municipal Elections which was
read a first time
