Ald. Gildersleeve introduced a By Law to amend section
346 of "The Consolidated By Laws of the City of Kingston" which
was read a first time
On motion of Ald. McIntyre seconded by Ald. Gildersleeve
Ordered, That Aldermen Harty, Gildersleeve
Muckleston, McGuire and the mover be a Committee to
consider the feasibility of erecting a dry dock & Esplanade
by convict labor and to report from time to time thereupon
and with power to delegate such members of said Committee
as may be deemed necessary to interview the Government
in regard to this subject
Ald. Smith introduced a By Law to provide for the
weighing of Coal which was read a first time
On motion the Council adjourned - yeas 9, Nays 8

Robinson Toronto was read Re Portrait of the late Judge
Hagerman
Communications from the Right Honorable Sir John A
Macdonald and Sir Adolphe Caron were read acknowledging
receipt of petition for Cavalry School at Kingtson
Petitions respecting Taxes were submitted and referred
to Court of Revision
Ald. Wilson brought up the petition of Messrs Davy
and Martin asking for rebate in Auctioneers License - Referred
to the Committee on Licenses
Ald. Hobart brought up the petition of Samuel Case
asking
