From G.H. Clark stating that Mrs. Scott Siddens
will appear in the city on Monday the 14th November and
the City Hall being the only available place asking the
Council to postpone their meeting. Granted.

Sundry petitions respecting taxes were submitted and
referred to the Council of Revision.

Alderman W. Robinson brought up the petition of James
Doyles respecting taxes. Referred to the Court of Revision.
Ald. Redden brought up the petition of the Kingston
Mechanics Institute asking for a remission of their taxes.
On motion of Alderman Redden seconded by Alderman Harty.
Ordered, that the petition of the Mechanics Institute
be granted on the usual conditions.

Ald. Hobart brought up the petition of James Reid
respecting drain. Referred to the Committee on Streets.

Alderman Drennan brought up the petition of R.W.
Garratt asking permission to cut down two trees in
front of his residence Johnson Street. Referred to the
Committee on Streets.

Alderman Drennan brought up the petition of Andrew
Mills and 8 others asking for a drain on York Steet
from Barrie to Picard Street. Referred to the Committee on
Streets.

Alderman Drennan brought up the petition of W. B.H.
Anglin and 24 others asking for an electric light at the
north end of Wellingston Street. Referred to the Committee
on Fire Water and Gas.

Alderman Drennan brought up the petition of Catherine
Hickey respecting taxes. Referred to the Court of
Revision.

Alderman Drennan brought up the petition of the
Knights of Labor asking for a remission of the
rent charged for use of City Hall on the occasion
of the public lecture by Mr. Frogg on 24th instant.
On motion of Alderman Drennan seconded by Alderman C Robinson.
Ordered, that the amount equal to the rent
paid by Knights of Labor for use of City Hall
be refunded to them.

Alderman McIntyre brought up the petition of James
Maxwell asking for a reduction of frontage.
Referred to the Committee on Streets.

Alderman McIntyre brought up the petition of Capt
Spooner on behalf of the Salvation Army asking that they
be allowed the use of the City Hall on payment of light
fuel and care taken in consideration of their barracks
being burned.
On motion of Alderman McIntyre seconded by Alderman Gildersleeve
Ordered, that the petition of the Salvation Army
be granted subject to the requirements of the City.
