Ald. Wilmot brought up the petition of John Farmer and [strikethrough] q [/strikethrough] others requesting
the immediate extension of Markland street to Montreal street.
Referred to the Committee on Streets

Ald. Rees brought up the petition of William Follest
asking permission or the privilege of emptying Privy Vaults.
Referred to the City Commissions.

Ald Muckleston from the Committee On Finance and
accounts brought up a Report (Number 488 Book F) which
was read and adopted - yeas 14 nays 2.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets and
Improvements brought up a Report (Number 489 Book F)
which was read and adopted.

Ald Thompson introduced a By Law to authorise the
construction of a common sewer on Frontenac street from Brock
street to Johnson street in the City of Kingston as a local work
and improvement under the provisions in that behalf of the
consolidated Municipal Act of 1883 and amendments
which was read a first time.

A Report from the City Engineer was read in reference
to petition presented asking for the construction of a drain
on Frontenac street - read Aug 22. 1887.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into
committee of the whole on the second reading.

The Committee rose and the chairman reported the second reading
of the By Law clause by clause - the Report was received.

The 30th Rule was again suspended and the By Law was
read a third time and passed and signed by the Mayor and sealed
with City Seal.

On motion of Ald. Shannon seconded by Ald. Hiscock

Ordered that the Committee on Fire, Water
and Gas be requested to report to this Council upon the
petitions of the Kingston Housing Company and of James
Evans and others respectively asking for electric lights
at the premises of the Housing Company and at the Grove
Inn respectively.

On motion the Council adjourned.
