Committees of the Council for the ensuing year - Alderman Gildersleeve,
Harty, Fenwick, Wilmot, Swift, Gaskin and the mover _ which being

In Amendments

Ald. Gaskin moves seconded by Ald. McIntyre

That this Council do not now appoint a Committee to
strike the standing Committees of the Council for the year
but that the whole Council now assembled is best fitted for
that purpose and that the Council now proceed to appoint
said standing Committees by ballot. _ which being put was lost

That the Committee to strike the Standing Committees
be Aldermen McIntyre, Gaskin, Shannon, Gildersleeve, Harty
Redden, Wilmot _ Ald. Gildersleeve with the consent
of the Council withdrew his resolution _ The Amendment
being put [bold] was [/bold] [underline] carried [/underline]

The Council here adjourned for ten minutes

The Council met pursuant to adjournment all the Members
being present.

The Chairman from the Select Committee to strike
the standing Committes for the year brought up
a Report ( number 498 Book F) which was read
and adopted.

Communications were read as follows: _

From T. F Vanluven Esquire Treasurer Midland
Central Fair asking that the Grant made by the Council
for the Fair be paid

On motion of Ald. Redden seconded by Ald. C. Robinson

Ordered, That the amount passed namely the
sum of three hundred dollars being the same amount
granted by Country Council be paid to the Treasurer of
the Midland Central Fair.

From Thomas Mills Secretary & Treasurer
Cataraqui Bridge Company asking for a remission
of fine in connection with the payment of Taxes _ Referred
to the Finance Committee.

From the Salvation Army in reference to rental
of the Ontario Hall. Referred to the Committee on
City Property.
