On Motion of Ald. Fenwick seconded by Ald: Shannon

Ordered, That the By Law No 226 be signed and
sealed forthwith

On Motion of Ald. Wilmot seconded by Ald: Gaskin

Ordered, that the six By Laws be signed and sealed

On Motion of Ald: Muckleston seconded by Ald. Gaskin

Ordered, That the City Council of Kingston desires to
return thanks to the members of the Board of Trade and Harbor
Commission of Belleville, Cobourg, Port Hope, Port Darlington
Bowmanville, Whitby and Oshawa who so kindly offered their
services to proceed to Ottawa with the Kingston Deputation to urge
on the Government the necessity of constructing a Graving Dock
at Kingston in order to complete the canal system _ After receiving the
very strong resolutions passed by these bodies in favor of the Government
proceeding at once with this most important work, the Kingston
committee did not deem it necessary to put the gentlemen to the
trouble of proceeding to Ottawa, that the Council now wish to place
on record the obligation it feels under to them for their kind co operation
and resolve that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to them

On Motion of Ald: C. Robinson seconded by Ald: Redden

Ordered, That Wednesday the 8th day of August be
the day set apart by this Council for our Civic Holiday

On Motion the Council adjourned

The Clerk read the Minutes of the last meeting
Communications were read as follows: _

From B.M. Britten Esquire complaining of property being damaged
corner of West Sydenham streets and requesting steps may be taken
to remedy it. _ Referred to the Committee On Streets

From W. A. McRea Re Street watering _ Referred to Committee
on Streets

From George M Macdonnell complaining of state of drain
on Gordon street _ Referred to the Committee on Streets
